This year they did a Mystery quilt at the Chelmsford Quilters Guild. I was pleased with the outcome, but if I'd known what it was going to be I think I would have used the colors differently. I may do it again.
This is an interesting way to use up scraps. I'm trying to do a lot of that these days! I machine quilted bears and deer in the center squares. It's a Couch Potato Quilt.
This was made using the technique in Blanche Young's book, "Bloomin' Nine Patch". I've made four of these and every one is fun. You pick out all the fabric but the ending is always a pleasant surprise! Size 50” x 55”
Dianne Hire was a guest speaker at our quilting guild one month and gave us her book "Games Quilters Play". I saw this idea in it and Zinnias came to mind so I plunged ahead. My sewing room floor was piled high with scraps while I worked on it and I never could find the right yellow to live with the reds so I had to leave it out. This was me climbing "outside the box". Size 42" X 54"
The project these days is to use up some of my stash in scrap quilts. The first picture is the "Sister's Choice" pattern. This is the second one done this year.
Sister's Choice
The next picture is the beginning of another scrap quilt on the design board. It is going along very nicely.
